Trash to Treasure – Blanket Ladder

This past weekend I hit up a bunch of yard sales and scored some amazing finds for super cheap. One of these finds was this decorative ladder that was in desperate need of some sprucing up. With a little bit of time and some paint, I was able to give this old ladder a new life!

So let’s take a look at the before….

All this ladder needed was a quick coat of paint and a little distressing. I gave it a good cleaning and then started painting it with Home Decor chalk paint in Parisian Grey. I also used a furniture wax by Homestead House in Espresso to give a more aged appearance (but totally optional).

After a couple of coats, and once it was dry, I then added a bit of the furniture wax over top to give it more of an aged look. Then I sanded it down with some sandpaper to rough it up.

This was too easy! This project only took few hours (mostly because I’m impatient and can’t wait the recommended time for the paint to dry, but hey).

And of course my supervisor Mr. Marty has to give the final inspection….
