Okay so this post is so long overdue… it’s officially after Christmas and I’m just sharing my front porch decorated for the holiday season now – oopsy. I even had it decorated so early too (like always)! Oh well. The holiday season has come and gone but I still love my front porch decorations and want to share them with you all (even if it’s a little past Christmas now)! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this still and maybe you can get some inspiration for next year!

The fall season is now over, and as much as I love Thanksgiving and Halloween, I am so excited to start celebrating the change in seasons and start doing all the festive holiday things. I always plan to do so much over the winter season, so this year I decided to create a winter holiday bucket list, along with a holiday movie bucket list, to make the most out of this season and all that comes with it: the snow, the holidays, and of course the food! So continue reading to see all my favourite ideas (and Christmas movies!) combined into bucket lists that you can print off and hang up wherever that will remind you best of the fun holiday activities that this season has to offer!

Since moving into our house last August, I’ve been planning so many projects and DIYs to try and update our home on a budget. My current work-in-progress is our ensuite bathroom which I’ve been slowly working away at month-by-month. I originally made a post with my design plans which you can read about here, and more recently I painted the vanity and countertop with you can read about here. Although I have made some changes along the way, my bathroom is slowly becoming closer to my vision of being more modern and updated – with of course staying on a budget!
My most recent update of painting and stenciling my floor was something I was very nervous to do, but now that I’m finished, I am so happy with the results! I have seen so many blog posts and Instragam photos of others stenciling their bathroom floors. I was instantly inspired! So let me show you how I did it!

How to Pack for 10 Days in a Carry-On
Packing for 10 days in a carry-on… yes it is possible to do! True confession: I used to be a total over-packer and assumed that any trip that was one full week or more automatically meant that I would be taking with me a fully stuffed, large suitcase. However, on my last trip to Nova Scotia (which you can read about here and here), I challenged myself to pack a 10-day trip into one carry-on suitcase. Although it was quite the challenge and forced me to be very mindful and selective in the items I was bringing, it was the best decision ever. I’m totally convinced now that for most trips, even those exceeding one full week, opting to take a carry-on is a way better decision. It makes traveling way easier! So for my upcoming trip to New Brunswick, I wanted to challenge myself again to bring 10 days worth of clothing in my carry-on (and also because I didn’t have a choice since I opted for the economic seats and would have to pay extra for checked luggage… ya girl is on a budget, okay?).

Makeover on a Budget: Bathroom Vanity Update
A few months ago I made a blog post with my design plans for updating our ensuite bathroom. Being on a budget, I’ve had to get a bit creative in how to go about sprucing up our dated builders-grade bathroom to something a bit more in-style. Although I haven’t finished updating the bathroom completely, I have managed to makeover the vanity and thought I would share the progress so far!
